Default LG Motorsports, So who are these guys?

Louis and I were cleaning around the shop and hanging some new pictures of the ZR1 from the hill climb this summer. That got us to thinking about some of the race history that Lou has been in over the years, and some things that most of you probably do not know about. So I have started a little run down of some of the things we have known about for years that I thought you guys would get a kick out of, and probably haven't seen....

Bit of History...

Where do we come up with our ideas for these products like our cam designs and suspension systems? Over years and years of testing, building, and racing our own cars.

President Lou Gigliotti has been building his own race cars and developing high end components since the late 1970's.

A quick photo history through the years.......

1970's

Early 1970's TR3

Early 1970's TR3

Datsun 510

1974 Pole and lead at Mosport 1974

SuperV class

1976 SuperVee at Watkins Glen F1 weekend. Qualified outside pole in front of the F1 crowd!

1980's

1988 Corvette Challenge at Sears Point

1989 Corvette Challenge leading the race in front of Stu Hayner, Peter Lockhart, Robin Buck, and Andy Pilgrim

1989 Corvette Challenge

1990's

1990 Corvette Challenge/Escort Series

1990 Corvette Challenge/Escort Series

1991 Firehawk series at Addison, TX GP

1991 SCCA TransAm

That is the championship winning 1992 Camaro.

That season Lou claimed over 75% of the wins for the season, something no other driver in SCCA history has beaten, and I believe a record for Camaro as well.

1994 SCCA World Challenge

1994 SCCA World Challenge at Road Atlanta

1996 LG Motorsports Saleen/Allen SCCA/IMSA Mustang at St. Pete

We did NASCAR Super Truck 1995-1996. Chevy in 1995, and the Ford in 1996. We ran both road course and ovals with the trucks.

1998 TransAm
*Yes we actually ran a Mustang for a few years, and built the cars for Saleen/Allen during the mid '90's and because of our car, we brought the championship home for LG Motorsports and two manufacture championships to Saleen for 1996 and 1997

2000's

1999 TransAm at Long Beach

2001 TransAm at Mosport (won Long Beach GP that year)

2002 GrandAm GTA class 250 Paul Revere winner at Daytona

2004 World Challenge

2005 SCCA World Challenge

2007 Forza Speed TV series

2007 World Challenge at Charlotte

2008-2009 American LeMans GT2

GT2 Corvette entered into NCM

2010-today

2010 GrandAM GT

2010 GrandAM GT

2010-2011 Spectre 341 Winning ZR1

2010-2011 Spectre 341 Winning ZR1

Little bit of Lou's records over the years.

SCCA World challenge wins = 23 Still in the top 5 of all time wins ever
SCCA World Challenge Poles = 26
SCCA World Challenge National Championships = 3
SCCA World Challenge 2nd in Championship = 3
SCCA Trans Am Winner at Long Beach GP
SCCA Trans Am Winner at Lime Rock GP
SCCA Scirocco Bilstein Cup winner and Second in National Championship
Grand AM Winner Daytona Paul Revere 250
Grand Am Second place Watkins Glen 6 hour
IMSA Firehawk winner Road Atlanta
IMSA Firehawk Win Riverside Raceway
SCCA Scirocco Bilstein Cup winner and Second in National Championship

Other notable events...
* LG Motorsports has built and completed over 40 complete Pro race cars and chassis for SCCA, TransAm, GrandAm, and NASA
* The first ever win in a Pro Race for the 4th Gen Camaro
* LG fielded the FIRST Corvette GT2 to race in ALMS
* LG Corvette was the ONLY Corvette to ever out qualify Factory Corvettes in ALMS
* LG GT2 ALMS Corvette is the only privately run, and only non factory built ALMS Corvette. Chassis 001 of 1 produced.
* Only Corvette GT2 Car ever in the National Corvette Museum
*2 time winner of the Spectre 341 Virgina City Hill Climb in a Corvette ZR1

You can catch the ALMS GT2 Corvette now in the Corvette Museum as the only privately run Corvette in the GT2 class.

Of course there are a more than a few cars I have left out over the years and more stories that could more than fill at least one book.

Fantastic!

Your track expereince was the only reason I purchased your headers for my car. I didn't know anything until the shop parts guy explained to me why I should buy your pipes over the other brands.

The car won the race...the picture there was taken at Texas World Speedway at an LG Track day.

I don't have a picture from the race that I know of. Good picture to because a blown tire removed the entire passenger side body work off the car during the race....so we literately blew our own doors off.

Anthony,

What a great company you work for!

Not only does your company produce great rearch, products, win poles, races and titles, but Lou and LG also support great causes.

Thanks to LG Motorsports as well as dozens of other Vette and car related companies, for the support of our Non Club Club of Oklahoma All Corvette Charity Car Show which has raised ten of thousands of $$$$ for the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program.

LG has been a major sponsor for several years now. Because of names like LG Motorsports and a man named Marc Heitz, a few other big names have joined the effort. We know that LG being an anchor at our show has drawn in the biggest names in the Corvette world:

LG Motorsports - 3 years and counting
Reeves Callaway - will be 2 years
Ron Fellows - Thanks for coming to next year's show!
JW Motoring, Double D, Auto Accessories, can't list them all here!

The NCCO thanks LG Motorsports for backing us and our efforts to back the Tots. You helped us get Marc Heitz's attention that we were serious. Marc is a good man. Seeing LG being involved might have nudged Marc to work harder to help us and thus his business, get Callaway. Now, Ron Fellows is soon to be another draw for the Tots.

Sky is the limit!

Anthony,,,personal thanks,

Kent

Merry Christmas!
