Getting PRC Stage 2.5 5.3 heads on my bolt on 00 Vette
Im going to go backwards with doing cam and heads. I know its costing more doing it 1 at a time but thats fine with me.
So I have a 2000 vette with all bolt ons. Vararam, shorty headers, UD pulley, B&B exhaust with hi flo cat, tuned to 347/352
Compression should be around 10.8:1
What would your guys guess be on the outcome? Ive only found 2 other guys who did heads without doing a cam. I wont say the numbers because Im interested into seeing what you all think itll make.

Unbeknownst to many it's "ALL" about the Heads - on our Vette's a good set of heads can net you 45+ RWHP and with say a pair of 1.8 RR's which will increase lift you can easily gain 55+ RWHP and especially with the Compression ratio jump involved
A cam alone will not even come close - BUT with H/C you should see 100+ RWHP
Thanks,Matt

If you can do you own tuning or have access to a cheap tuner you can feel the benefits of each tweak. I prefer to do it in bigger chunks just so I don't have to pay the additional fees for tuning.
I currently still have those heads in my car but with a 228r cam. The car pulls well especially with 3.90 gears.

I had those exact same heads with an MS3 cam installed on my car and I picked up about 100 HP. Of course it cost me more in the long run. That eventually became "not enough" and went with a supercharger. When I did that I replaced both the heads and the cam. If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't have gone with those heads and would have went straight to boost.

A 6 speed car should be about there. When you finally add the cam it will really wake up and take advantage of the added flow capability. The heads will 'allow' you to flow more air, but only if the valves are open.
