I tried to find out myself but its hard operate a stopwatch and drive and get an accurate reading and to have a passanger do it would add extra weight. The freeway is not a good place to do it when starting at zero but lots of quiet desert roads for that around here. I'm thinking around just over 5 sounds about right.

I believe the specs were 5.2 for the auto and 4.8 for the manual.

Here is a very interesting article from the motor trend archives. The last page has 0-60 at 4.8sec and 1/4 at 13.3. Ran really close to the NSX in all categories. Just my 2cents.

Im not sure where those numbers came from, but if you look at the second page last paragraph of the article I posted his top speed for the manual is wrong. Maybe numbers are backwards for manual vs auto. Motortrend tested a m6 frc that did 174mph as a top speed.
Gm 4 speed trans stock are pretty ******. They are consistent, but with 2 gears missing in comparison to a manual the shifts end up out of the power band. As shown in this video.

Yeh auto can shift faster then any human could, and with the same amount of gears in both a manual and a auto I do think that an auto would be faster, but in the case of C5s however this can not apply.

I have to disagree with this statement as I know how fast I can complete a shift and it is right on par with some of the DCT autos which are faster than the autos in the c5. However an auto doesnt miss a shift...

You maybe be able to but tell me if im wrong but you have a short throw shifter. I have hurst short throw as well and I completely agree with you in that respect, but Im talking stock m6 vs stock auto. No short throw, no shift kit, no stall.
