Default [ACCIDENT] C5 Corvette Gets Destroyed by 18-Wheeler

This one made the news down in Miami earlier this week. A red C5 Corvette was clipped by a semi at around 2am. The hit on the car spun it around and then the truck drove over the front it, narrowly missing the driver. He is very lucky to be alive.

The driver in the semi left the scene of the accident and so hopefully soon, he'll be getting a knock on the door and a free ride downtown...

What's even worst is the driver of the 18-wheeler kept going. He should be shot

Its possible the vette was at fault here, like sooo many others that don't give big rigs enough room, but leaving the scene is a big no-no whatever it is.

Thank you.
If the guy would have said clipped his front I could buy it cause he could have swung over and clipped him with the DOT bar on the back rare, but he didn't get hit with the front of the truck. Thats what lug nuts on the front does to a car when you get up close and personal with us and none of what we call teeth marks are on that vette.
Only one place could have clipped him on the rear and that was those back tires, and did you see any rubber marks cause you bump a truck tire it will look like burn out marks on your car and I didn't see the first rubber mark on that vette. For him to clip the vette in the rear the vette had to be in front the back tires, not behind.
If he was hit by a truck and the driver fled the seen and they do catch him I hope they fry the guy, but if you lost control, and it come to you telling your insurance company you were at fault or someone did a hit and run, which would be your story.
If the back tires did run over that vette, the driver knew it and that poor vette would be in a lot worst shape than it is right there.

Teeth marks as we call it.

If you listen to the video a policeman saw the accident happen. In florida more than likely the other driver was an illegal , no license and no insurance

The front of that car was not run over by the truck. It would be in worse shape if that had happened.

Sounds like a BS story for the insurance if you ask me.

Sad to see a C5 in that shape, and sure hope that the driver of the 18 wheeler gets to spend some time behind bars for leaving the scene.

Thats really terrible, I hope the drivers okay, and that vert looks like it kept the driver alive. We had a call where a an 18 wheeler clipped a motorcycle rider and had a passenger too...both fatalities, the driver didn't know he hit them and kept going. ALWAYS GIVE ROOM TO THE 18 WHEELERS, they can't maneuver fast enough to avoid sudden situations.

btw - dibs on the EBCM

too soon?

Yep. And as a fellow Floridian, my insurance costs probably just edged up a little more based on another non-insured driver that we all have to cover for.

...and I thought that's why we have insurance?! I guess the insurance companies are just not hiding the fees any more.

Damn lucky to be alive, anytime you tangle with a 18 wheeler you are going to lose, in this case just the Vette! I thought hit and runs only happened where I live..here they will run you over and keep going and when the cops come to get you, dear old dad will defend you to the end too! Sometimes to the point dad it taken away for obstruction of justice/assault, see the apple dosent fall far from the tree! You are one lucky guy and after watching video, he knows it too. Rob
