Default Where to buy replacement plastic door part?

The filler parts that cover the screws just behind the inside door handles need replacing. I picked up the car used and it looks like each of them were damaged and loose. I can't find this piece anywhere, mainly because I don't know what they are called.

It's about 3 inches wide, about a half inch tall, and has clips in the back which are meant to grip the door and keep this part from slipping out (it's these tiny plastic clips which break off and cause the whole thing to be replaced).

It fits into the recess behind the door handle and covers a few holes in the door material that allow access to two screws which need to be removed if you pull of the interior door cover (which contains the handle).

I need the set (for both doors).

Check ebay. Search for door panel plug. They go for about $5 each on there.

I'd prefer to stay away from ebay. Any online retailers?

Your local dealer will have them or can order them. They are not very expensive to buy either.

I bought two at the local Chevy dealer parts counter for less than $6 for both. That's in black. I'm not sure if shale is available or not, this was for a previous car with black interior. No shipping at the local dealer, but did have to pay sales tax.

Local dealer is the only way to go for this item. Any other way you buy this item will cost you more in shipping.

There are vendors here that do them in carbon fiber look, stuff like that. Might look into that if you wanted to spruce it up a bit.

I have always been told it is tradition to take these out of fellow C5 owners cars. I for one don't feel like getting murdered, so I haven't tried it. Anyone else ever heard of this?

This is one of the few parts that are not discontinued. Just bought the drivers side one yesterday at the dealer. $4.82 with tax at the local stealership.

Also, when you get the new one, a couple of small pieces of double sided tape will insure it doesn't go walkabout again. I came to this idea after the second replacement.

Everyone has a minimum shipping charge. Ours is $9.99. Most people just wait and order some when they need to order something else.
