Default trouble with switchback led strip. help please

so i picked up a switchback led strip to put in my corner lights.
it has 3 wires:

1. black for ground
2. white for the white leds
3. yellow for the amber leds

I am using a white 60 led bulb in the 3157 socket and have tapped that in with the parking lights so it only comes on with the parking lights or headlights.

I have the switchback strip wired in where the 3157 socket used to be. It has black for ground, blue for drl/turn signal, and brown for driving lights. so I have black, of course, going to black, the yellow going to blue, and white going to brown.

this is how the switchback works wired like that

- headlights on - white lights on/turn signals flashes amber
- parking lights on - white lights on/turn signal flashes amber
- everything off drl on - amber light hyper flashes along with all other exterior lights and interior lights including the instrument cluster, radio, hvac etc.

obviously the problem is all these lights flashing when i should when just the drl should be on (light should be amber).

Things i have tried so far. I removed fuse 2 from the underhood fuse box. this stopped all the hyper flashing except when i use the turn signal. when the turn signal is on the amber light flashes very dimmly and all the interior/exterior lights flash with it but at a normal speed. I have also tried using a 12v diode on the white and yellow wires but it did not change anything. it was suggested to me that i wire in an extra 3157 socket before the switchback strip in the series. this also did not fix the problem. i also tried switching the white and yellow wires so i would have white going to blue and yellow to brown. with this setup there is no hyper flashing or flashing of extra lights whatsoever but here is what happen:
- headlights on - amber light on/amber flashes with turn signal
- parking lights on - amber lights on/amber flashes with turn signal
- lights off/drl on - white lights/white lights flash with turn signal.
that won't really work either.

I do have a hyper flash harness installed.

has anyone experienced a problem like this? i am open to any suggestions as I am pretty much stumped at this point.

thanks,
dave
