SLP Spoiler Pics and Review
Having had the ACI rear spoiler on my previous Vette, I decided I wanted to try out something different. My research ultimately led me to the SLP rear spoiler. I purchased it from JEGS because most of the other vendors seemed to be sold out of them. I wasn't in a position to change out the whole rear fascia to tigershark or Werkes, so I settled on the SLP. ($260)
I received the spoiler in just two days. After opening the box, I was a bit concerned. The spoiler at first seemed very flimsy and cheap. It looked as if it was used, but there were no major marks or scuffs.
I took it to my good friend (Steve's Restorations & Hot Rods) for paint. We had a good laugh as to how this little piece of plastic could cost so much. He had to spend some time smoothing out the surface and making sure there were no imperfections.
It was an easy spray for him and soon there after it was ready to be installed. It came with a good set of instructions, double sided tape, and an adhesive bond. For extra measures, we put he heat gun to it. The spoilers fitment was excellent and really well designed. I was skeptical, but once the tape solidified, the spoiler was stiff as a board. It would take quite a bit of force for that thing to even move.
All in all I am very happy with the product. In my opinion, its the best looking aftermarket spoiler for the C5 out there. Its subtle yet provides the rear of the car with some much needed flare.
Yes its dirty !
