Default Chrome or black chrome z06 wheels?

Hi to all!
I would like to change wheels to my 2001 C5 Convertible, I was looking for the C6 Z06 5 spoken chrome wheels but I found around internet the same wheels in beautiful black chrome paint.

http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b7...frntwheels.jpg

Which one would you choose?
Do you have pics of the two kind of wheels fitted on a C5? possibly white....

Let me know and thanks in advance!

Either wheel would look good on a white C5 - if it were my car, I would probably go with the regular chrome wheels.

Since I don't like black wheels on C5's, I'd say chrome. You can't go wrong with chrome.

Since you asked, chrome wheels are like diamond earrings and black wheels are like neck tattoo's to me. I prefer earrings to tats on my rig. But some cars look pretty badarse with tats. Depends on the overall look you wish to create.

I think the c6 z06 wheels look the best on c5's. Back chrome is so unique and classy too. Not a flat black and they really shine, I love the way they shine at night.

I noticed that there are more kind of black chrome or is just my impression? Some one seems darker, other seems light. Do you have pics in night to see the effect?

I ****HATE**** chrome rims on a modern car. Do anything but chrome. It looks cheap. If you want a shiny finish, go with polished metal. IMHO, chrome doesn't belong on a car after 1974.

To be honest with you, that is the only draw back from it, they all seem to be a little different and the mfg's will tell you that too. I just got my car last October and these wheels were on it. Two of the center caps were peeling and I searched everywhere for replacements, most didn't have any and said if they did there is no way to guarantee they would match in color. Best bet was to order chrome centercaps and have them all black chromed together so they all look the same. I hate those plastic center caps on chrome wheels. I thought I would try these for now, but I like the look of the plain black chromes center caps, especially when they are moving. I was driving in my other car next to my wife today in the vette and didn't like the way the c5 emblem on the wheel looked in motion. Add new center caps to the wish list. LOL

This is the only pic I have of it at night so far, doesn't do it justice. It looks really good though at night in motion, the light reflects off of them and look incredible as they are spinning.

Here is what it looked like with the original caps on it, I don't like the little dimples in them either.

From a personal opinion, I would tell you black chrome. As you can see from my avatar, I prefer black wheels.

However, I do advise you to do your homework & buy from a company that gives you a good warranty (on the finish especially). I have heard quite a few horror stories about the black chrome finish flacking of! Again, not to scare you, good luck & post pics!!!

Chrome is a coating. Polished metal is just that, they polish the metal to a shine. Typically, chrome is only found on cheap rims. Polished looks good, won't flake, is easy to buff out, etc. In every way polished is better.

IMO,,actual black wheels only look good on certian colors,,usually the lighter ones. NOW,,you are talking about black chrome,,and that is a totally different animal.I think black chrome looks cool on all!! I don't think you can go wrong with it!!I think black chrome kinda looks like jewelry for a car. As a follow up on Grimlock,,Chrome is actually a super hard "clear coat",,the actual shinny silver part of chrome is actually polished nickel. Every one has hears the term"trippl plated chrome finish". That is actually #1 a copper base coat to smooth the base metal,,#2 is the nickel "shinny silver"coat and #3 id the actual chrome protective "clear coat". Not sure what the dark base color coat is on black chrome is,,but it is not a pure black like a anted or powder coated surface and THAT is what I like about Black Chrome!!
