How do I remove the driver's seat - motor is broken?
The power drivers seat in my 2003 coupe will no longer move forwards or backwards. It will still move up and down. The lumbar support and side bolster switches make noise, but don't really do much.
I want to take the seat out of the car to mess with it, but I'm tall so I have the seat almost all the way back. The seat rails are covering up the two rear bolts that hold the seat to the car.
How do I get it out of there? Is there a manual release or something?
Thanks in advance!

There are four bolts holding the seat in place. two in the front, two in the back. Also an electrical connector is involved.
I think they a re 10MM bolts. move the seat as far back as you can and remove the two front bolts. Move the deat all the way forward and remove the two rear ones. dosconnect the elctrical connector(s) and push the seat back forward, gently remove while being carefule not to scratch any body work.
It's usually easier to lower the top of remove the top panel on a coupe. FRCs are a bit more difficult, while actually removing the seats from the car.
Those two plastic 'covers' over the bolts just snap out.

The reason I posted this is because I can NOT move the seat backward or forward. So, I can't get at the rear bolts because the seat rails are covering them.
Thanks

I found this thread: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...post1581055461
A guy there says that his seat got wet and it caused the relays to corrode. I think that might be my issue as my seat has been wet several times due to a leaky targa top. I just need to figure out how to get the seat out of the car so I can get at that relay unit!
Thanks for any replies.

Tip. When you do go to lift it out, get lots of big bath towels. Cover the sills. Cover the door panels. Cover the door jamb and rear fender.
Todays seats with all the power stuff are rather heavy...especially at my age. The tracks at the bottom are very unforgiving of plastic trim, upholstery and paint. Better safe than sorry.

Thanks for the links above. Saved them for future reference.
To the OP - hope you get the seat out and repaired.
