Default Hit & Run By A GOLF CART - Yes It's True

My wife is on the way home from work. 30 mph zone. Golf cart lane to right of traffic. Golf cart heading in same direction makes an abrupt left turn into rt front wheel, takes out fender, mirror, door, door glass, qtr panel, and even knocked the vacuum lines off the heater/ac box. My wife pulls over to edge of road to check on drivers injuries. He does a U turn and disappears into housing. I don't shive a git what you would have done. Yes it was in The Villages, the largest golf cart community in the US, yes it's in FL, and yes these Mother #$&+*rs can't drive. The guy was probably drunk. His golf cart had to sustain some serious damage.

Cars at body shop $6274.35 plus 2 weeks ~ car rental. And yes I picked a helluva time to quit drinkin. Okay I'm done. Have a nice xxxxing day.

Ouch. Sorry to hear about the accident. I also live in FL and have had some close calls with golf carts as well. I think most drivers don't believe they are vehicles and therefore can drink & drive, let their kids under age 16 drive, etc.

What's worse is that many of these HOAs, CDDs, etc. have their own special rules and sometimes the cops just want to stay out of the disputes depending on whether the roads are private or public. Not saying which way is legal, just basing my opinion on experience.

I can't blame you for being angry, however I know I would be taking some cruises through the neighborhood in search of damaged golf carts.

I used to live in the land of the Blue-hairs. By my profile, you can see that I moved as far west as I possibly could to get away from there. 'Course, we got our share of bad drivers over here so don't despair.

Hope she gets fixed up nice.

I live next to Sun City here in AZ. You have to constantly keep you're eyes open for them.

Sorry to hear about the damage to her car. Too bad she couldn't just chase him down and call the cops.

Some guy did a hit and run on mine a few months back, destroyed the driver door and front fender..and i've been fighting with the morons at the body shop ever since. I wish the door would have come all the way off so i could have chased em. Good luck with the repair, hope you pick your shop better than i did mine.

I salute both you and your wife for you composure!!

After you've cooled off a bit, maybe you could go looking for that damaged golf cart. When you find it, burn the piece of sh*t to the ground. The owner will know why that's happened and will be terrified of further retribution for a long, long time. Just a thought.

Yep, had the same happen to me parked way the hell out away from everything and of all people the security guard side swiped the crap out of mine and tried to deny it but his boss found my paint on the side of his golf cart and paid for the repairs.

Default Saga Continues

Body shop said cars done. Arrive at shop only to discover replaced door lock is inop. New part arrived next day & installed. Door locks but won't unlock. Another new part ordered BUT if the PN on the DRIVERS side is such & such then the DRIVERS side needs replaced too. Info given to me from insurance guru. Then he asks if I had any issues with EBCM ANTI SKID? No why? Lights came on at body shop but they're off now. So they fixed themself? One thing for sure is that the body work & paint looks great. Remind me to check the operation of the passenger window. The original repair estimate has now gone over 8K. Did I mention the GD garage door opener quit at the house last night too. LOL WHATS NEXT................
