Default Engine swap on 2001 LS1

Looking to swap the engine out at some point. Just wondering how hard this is going to be. I have done swaps on older cars 1980's and older but this appears to be a different animal! Looks a bit intimidating to say the least. Any words of support?
How long will it take, pit falls, special tools, cost and so on.

Thanks in advance for the support.

I did it myself in the garage and from the top - it is NOT as hard as many say it is- actually quite easy to do - I made a homemade cradle lowering jack for the project too!

Here is the write-up: see the updates on the different pages

Cradle Jack - How to make:

Plus here is Cajundudes write-up too: He did have the rear cradle and Torque Tube already out - just so you are aware!

I pulled the motor out the bottom on mine on a lift. Wasnt too hard. I had it dropped out by the evening of the first day. Hardest part was putting the new one back in and getting the drive shaft to slide through the pilot bearing. I bet I spent 2 days trying to get it to slide in. It had to line up just perfect to clear.
