My Turn - Tires?
hey all, my turn for tires, gonna ditch the run flats this time.
My use is all over - fair weather DD mostly, few times a year hpde track events, autox and drags - gonna need a rear drag pack now.
Trying to keep the cost under $1000, so considering these:
Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110
Continental Extreme Contact DWS
BFG g-force sport or COMP 2
Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport
any thoughts on going wider? I'll be running them on the oem magnesium wheels...
I know its a topic, but any comments or recommendations would be appreciated...Thanks...

I have the Continental Extreme Contact DW (stands for "Dry" "Wet"). I recommend them and since installing them I have run into a number of other Vette drivers who are also happy with these tires. i would get the Continental DW but not the DWS because the latter is a very different all-season tire.

Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport's are a great handling tire, had them on everyone of my Vette's and my Stangs! The BFG's G-Force would be my second pick, there a great all around tire aswell!!

Good Options on tires!
(not on a vette but has to do with tires) My wife went from 5 year old BFG G-Force tires on 20's to Faulkin 452's 20's on the fronts, 22's on the rear and the ride improved! Not to mention lower road noise. The BFG's were about half worn but cracking. I'm not sure how much of the difference is from going from old to new tires or from the tire design changes themselves.
I thought I would throw this in there as another tire choice as I am very impressed with these tires compared to the BFG's.
I would like to hear other people's opinions as I have to replace my tires next summer.

I have a set of the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110, but I use them mounted on an extra set of rims just for autocrossing. They are very sticky in the dry (and warm of FL), but not rated very high in the rain, and while they are quiet, they wear pretty fast.

I ditched the run flats when I first bought the coupe and went with Falken F452's (245x45x17 F and 275x40x18 R) I recently changed to 18 inch Thin Spokes all around and went again with Falken F452's (275x35x18 F and 275x40x18 R) as the original set had 17K miles on them and were still showing plenty of tread, still were quiet, and still handled great in dry and wet. Using the 275x35 and 275x40 combo kept my overall diameter rake front to rear the same as stock sizes. I have gone with a 295x35 rear (about the biggest tire I can fit on the 18x9.5 Thin Spoke) but since Falken does not make that size in their F452 line. I had to go with a different brand to get a 275 front 295 rear combo (have not mounted the 295 rear yet). But I would have no problems recommending the Falken's as a DD and occasional track tire.

Im a Nitto fan. If you want all out performance, the NT05 is best, then if you want something that will last a little longer and be more weather friendly, the NT555 is another great one. I love my NT05's. With 325whp and 3.42 gears I dont even spin the tires flooring it from a stop. They hook up incredibly well.

I went with the Hankook Ventus V12 EVOs on my car - haven't had them on long enough to determine tread wear patterns but the ride is great, no road noise and very good handling.

I just installed BFG g-Force sport comp 2's yesterday; stock sizes and rims. As far as the looks go, they're a big improvement over the Pilot Sport A/S RF that came off. My first driving impression is that they feel much more connected to the road than the PS A/S's. Granted, I only have 25 miles on them at this point. Funny, my list of contenders was very similar to yours and I felt the BFG's were the best fit. Good luck with your decesion.

I have Conti ExtremeContact DWS on mine now. Pleasant surprise just how good they perform. I haven't done any wet or snow with them. Yet. I chose these because I needed a set of tires in a hurry and I hadn't rounded up a set of Z06 wheels so I didn't want to spend a ton of $$$$$.

I completely agree with you.
I've had Nitto 555RII's and they have been excellent.
When my car was making ~ 390hp at the rear wheels the car wouldn't spin out in any gear with those tires. The traction was amazing, and there was no road noise increase.

Well the NT05 has a tread wear rating of 200, so its not a long lasting tire. But I do use them on my daily driver. And the NT555 is 300. For a comparison, the stock Eagles are 400. The NT555 is the most street friendly tire. Im using the NT05's because Im crazy like that.
