Screw size for front plate filler?
Hi
Being that l just moved from NJ to Ga. I no longer need my front license
plate.
The problem is when l was attaching the front license plate filler the same screws didn't seem to fit and l didn't want to force
Where can l find the correct screw size?
Thanks
Alan

That filler (at least on mine) has a lip on the top edge that catches in a recess in the bumper cover. Sorta like a battery cover door on a remote control. Then there's two twin lead self drill/tap screws for plastic that go straight in at the bottom of the filler. The gap down at the bottom is slightly larger and that allows you to get a screwdriver in at the screws. I can post a pic if you like.
Whoops, and the screws are roughly a #8 x 3/4" (going from memory)

Could the 2 screws for the license plate be the same screws for the filler?
The holes look alike and approx 1" above the filler holes. My other concern is the screws have a small lip and would hate to hurt my car.
Maybe l'm to **** and should just do it.
While l am at home depot l will check out what they have.
Thanks

I just removed the factory screws from mine and are 5/8" long and came out with significant difficulty. The appear to be a #6 or possibly #8 and just screw into the plastic pad behind the cover at the bottom. Could it be that you are not "finding the hole" so to speak as you try to install them???
