Can't start car, security system stuck on.
I have a very interesting problem. A couple months back my door latch broke. I looked it up and it was $250.00 for a new latch and who knows how much for the install. Bought a latch off e-bay for $40.00 and had my buddy install it. Bad news is my key doesn't open lock, good news is doesn't matter I just use the fob keyless entry.
Unfortunately, I left the light on two days ago. Battery drained. After I recharged it the security system armed itself. Apparently it won't turn off from merely having the key in the ignition or using the keyless entry. It wants the key to open the freaking door lock to turn it off. My door lock doesn't exist anymore. My car now refuses to start because I'm not allowed to steal my own car.
GM says bend over and take it to a dealership. Any help out there?
