It may be the headlight gears, which is a common problem. The stock gears are plastic and many Forum Members have encountered problems when the plastic gears essentially grind down. The good news is, if it is the gears, there is a ton of information about replacing with brass. Do an Advanced Search for "Headlight Gears" and you'll get everything you need.

Also, and again if it's the gears, Corvette Mods, a Forum vendor has the gears on sale - free shipping.

It's the gear if it's making a loud grinding noise. I had the same issue. I got the gear kit from Top Down Solutions. Not to bad to do yourself.

Ordered the upgrade from plastic to bronze gear from www.corvettemods.com

The savings for a set was enough to go for it instead of just buying the one. I figure if one is done, the other won't be far behind.
I figured the same, but the other one has been good for years now ! Oh well, I have it when needed.
