Max tire width
I'm considering a set of wheels that are 18x12 in front and 18x13 rear.
What is the widest I could go on tires for a stock C5 coupe with no rubbing? I've researched some older threads, but there didn't seem to be any concensus on what would really fit.
I was thinking 285/30/18 front and 335/30/18 rear.
I currently have 275/35/19 front and and 295/35/19 rear.
Thanks.

If you want a real answer:
Offset is more of a determinant of rubbing than width.
If you want a helpful answer:
1) A 285 tire on a 12" wheels is bad news. a 285 tire is more suited to a 10" wheel. 12" wheels should have roughly a 335.
2) If you want your wheels flush to the fenders (or close to it), those widths will not work.
3) running a 12" on the front (possible or not), doesn't make much sense from a performance standpoint.
If you are set on running an 18/18 setup, I'd suggest something along these lines:
Front:
18x10
285/35/18
Rear:
18x11
305/35/18
If you don't mind the rears poking out a little, you could go with a 325 or 335.

I responded to an ad and I haven't seen the wheels yet, but I'm pretty sure these are three-piece wheels so I can get two of them narrowed down.

a 13" wide wheel always makes the tire look stretched IMO. even big 345s.
i recommend a 12" wide wheel to go along with the 345s so that the tire protrudes beyond the wheel not the other way around.
13" wheel w/345s. Look at the tire sidewall vs the wheel edge:

18x13 with 18x335/35 rear will need longer studs, a 5/8" spacer and flairs to cover the tires.
that is what I run
18x12 & 18x305/30 fronts and 18x13s & 18x335/30 rear on left
18x10 & 18x275/35 and 18x12 18x335/35 rear on right
3/4" flair
good reference

An 18x13 with the improper offset and backspacing will need longer studs, and a spacer.
What fares are those? They're nice.

for strength they will. changing the wheel offset will help, but again flairs will be needed to cover the tires.

What ever gave you that idea?
Front
-3.0*
rear
-2.0*
Slot car on rails through corners and even tire wear.
but on public streets, T1 suspension, aluminum seat bolted to the floor, big wide arz tires, Rocks would be softer.
