keep the c5 Z06?

keep the c5 Z06?
I have an "01 Z06. I've done a little work to it and like it pretty much the way it is. Sounds great and has good power and placed top 5 in a few shows. Last Friday night I won a 2012 base model vette. No choice of cash or car. Signed papers Saturday morning and I now own 2 vettes. I did not expect to have 2 vetts at one time. The Z seems faster than the c6 but the stereo and ride in the c6 is great. I have to decide, keep the Z and sell the C6, keep the c6 and sell the Z or keep both. I think I'll take my time to decide. No rush. I might end up with both.
If you had that problem, what are your thoughts?

The base C6 does nothing for me. If you want two Vettes, sell or trade the base C6 into a Grand Sport or Z06. If you're happy with your C5 Z06, sell the C6 and put a little more money into the C5Z and upgrade your stereo and pocket the rest of the cash!!!
What contest did you win?

Casono drawing. I will have to pay federal taxes on the value of the car as that is considered income. Taxes and tag will likely be about $15K - $18K. If I sold it, I might clear $25K at best.

I agree with the others, upgrade the C5 and pocket cash or sell them both and get a C6 GS or Z. I personally really like an 01 Z. I would put some of your good fortune into the 01 and pocket the rest.

Sell both and get a C6z.
At least that's what I would do.
Or if you REALLY like the C5z, sell the C6, and use the money you clear, to put a stroker and supercharger in the Z.

Congrats on winning the car. I'd never have that kind of luck. If it were me, I'd sell the C5 and the base C6 and get a C6Z or a GS.

I think we may see more and more base C6s being offered up as prizes under "Win a Corvette".
I was talking with the sales manager of our club's sponsor dealership and he told ever since GM introduced the Grand Sports, the base C6 coupes/convertibles are really hard to move. 99% of the target base of existing Corvette owners choose the wide body designs so the base Corvettes are targeted to new, or first-time Corvette buyers. This particular dealership still has "new" 2011" base C6 Corvettes on the lot.

Congrats on winning but it sux that'll "I might clear $25K at best". Still, I would probably sell the C6 and put the $ into the C5 or sell both for the upcoming C7.

Base 6, I'd say take your time and sell it to either a Dealer, personal, Car Max or Corvette dealer. A C5Z like yours in great shape are hard to come by. Base 6 IMHO isn't any big deal.

I chose my C5Z over a C6 coupe. So in your situation I would keep the Z. Or as someone else suggested, trade/sell them both for a C6Z. Congrats and good luck with your decision either way

Since you seem happy anyway with the Z, I would sell the C6 and put the money away as a future down payment on the C7Z that is sure to follow the C7 at some point. When it becomes the purchase you want on YOUR own time table. Sell the C5Z at that time and enjoy in the meanwhile.
