They actually had a 25 mph speed limit sign at the end of pit road but I got up to around 80, I did'nt want to get thrown out.

Nice opportunity you took advantage of - would have been nice if you could have gotten the car a bit faster on the track.

Had the chance at a Goodguys show at Pocono raceway to drive my 67 Chevelle 3 laps around. They had a pace car out at 75 but its a 2 and a half mile track so we dropped way back and got up to 120 down main stretch. Out with 35 other cars it was a blast

The local club had a track tour and some "ceremonial" laps around Dover International Speedway a few weeks ago. Pace car set a 25-35 mph pace and warned us not to lag behind to open up enough track so we could floor it. I wasn't going to . . . but when the two or three ahead of you do it, suddenly you are looking at open straightaway. I got to 78 - hitting triple digits would definitely have gotten me thrown out and Dover does have short straightaways. I did get chewed out by the pace car driver but he didn't throw me out.

Next step would be to do a driving course or something so I can do some hotter laps.

Red cars are faster. They did a study on it.

I got to do Charlotte Motor Speedway a few weeks ago. There was a pace truck that did 75-80 all the way around, but you could lag back and pass cars until you caught him. On my fourth session he inexplicably pulled into pit road and let us go for a lap and a half. The only time I really thought to look at my HUD I was over 120.
