244,000 miles on an "un-opened" engine. original alternator and starter. Looking forward to "300,000 miles"
Parts will have to be replaced, like any vehicle, but this is one of the most reliable cars I've owned.....and fun to drive.
that is all

I could put one car payment into these 3 each month (which of course I don't have to) and have really nice vehicles for years and years. And I plan to.
Or I could make payments on a new PU, or a new car, or a new vette. But not all 3.
It works for me.

My buddy has 233,000 on his '99 and it is still going strong. Yes it needed normal maintenance such as oil changes, tires, shocks, clutch etc. Right now it could probably use paint but it runs like a bear and it is 14 years old. You still have a lot of life left in your car. Enjoy it.

Ive had my car 14 years it has 90,000 miles on it .. Ive had none of these issues with my car. 5 power window motors? I don't doubt you but those motors have to pass a 180,000 cycle test. Its a requirement for 2nd and third tier suppliers to GM. I would think if they replaced the same motor five times that there was an underlying issue like a binding window track.
For the most part, this is one of the most reliable car designs in the last 50 years.

Also added two more issues to my post.

Like I said, I dont doubt you but yours is really not the norm... I have a 99 and have none of those issues..Ive had one starter, one water pump, one radiator, one head light motor gear, I replace both with bronze gears, and couple batteries, one door control module, two fog light bulbs. one turn signal bulb, one set of brake pads. thats it... 14 years , 90,000 miles.

My C5Z just broke 60k... bought it with 43k 8 months ago. Its a my DD and has all-seasons on it for winter, been driving in the snow, ect... I have no fears about the car lasting long term mechanically. In typical GM fashion... I do expect the interior to rattlle apart, the suspension to squeek, ect.
But this is a car that was built to drive, not to have a high end interior.

I just hit 155,000 two days ago with my 1998 six-speed.
I bought it with 69,000. It's my daily driver.
Since I've had it -
I've put in a new radiator; the original developed a crack. Also replaced the front radiator support cage.
I replaced one headlight gear.
I've put in a new oil pressure sensor to replace the one which was dead when I bought the car.
I replaced the seats with Corbeau A4s as a better, cheaper alternative to replacing the worn-out sport seats.
I had to get a new water pump a couple of months ago.
I'm about to install a rebuilt torque tube assembly (upgrade to the '01-'04 tube, with poly couplers) because the rear coupler is shot.
I had to buy a replacement clear top because the old one cracked.
I had to repair the clutch neutral safety switch.
I got four new tire pressure sensors when one of the old ones stopped reporting.
For fun, I've added an LS6 intake; a Vararam, a tune, and new 18x10.5 TSW wheels on all four corners. I had Hinson motor mounts installed; I've added a PCC catch can and a Katech idler pulley and bracket.
I've got a Pfadt transmission mount ready to go and and I'm looking forward to getting new shocks and swaybars early in 2013.
Since I only paid $13,000 for the car I believe still well ahead of the game versus people who buy/sell/trade often.
I love my "It's great to be alive" Nassau Blue C5.
PS - Before the '98 I had a '99 FRC for 30K miles. The only thing it needed was a new left multi-function switch. I sold it to get the coupe because I really missed having a pop-top... from when I owned my '93 coupe

Claim History does not show several other parts they replaced - guess their computer system ran out of memory.
I drive the car like an old man and rarely get on it - never had it over 80mph. Most of the major problems hit me around year 7-8.

Really... that was done in 2005 where it shows the clearcoat entry!
They also did not list several other things they did at all, like replacing the passenger side mirror motor at the same time they replaced the driver's side. Also does not show pulling the transmission in 2005 to replace a pump seal or replacing one differential seal early on. They also had to replace the steering rack & pinion twice, but just shows once.
