Default How to glue on rear insert lettering?

Hi all. I have had my letters for 2 years now. I had prepped the area well, or at least I thought- claybar and rubbing alcohol.

Anyways... I ended up peeling all of my letters off Sunday after washing.

I want to just glue them on but not sure what kind of glue will be safe. I dont want it to eat the clear coat or the paint. I have 3M primer 94 (which I wish I had used when i first applied the decal). Is there something I can use in addition to the primer 94? I have a spray adhesive but not sure if it can work safely on the car.

Thanks.

I have used 3M emblem adhesive with good results, I first cleaned the surface with denatured alcohol really well and haven't had an issue at all. Make sure you clean the emblem also and wear gloves.

There was another thread on this a few months ago. Someone on that thread said that he used "Shoe Goo," and it worked. It gives one a little time work the decal around so that it is just right.

Kabluie, that was me that used the Shoe Goo. Yes, it worked perfectly and still working perfectly almost a year later. The best part is like he said, with the Shoe Goo, you have a little time to move it around and get it perfectly situated. Overnight drying and its on there for the long haul. I also used the same Shoe Goo to do my lighted exhaust plate mod where I glued the LED strip above the chrome exhaust plate and it works perfectly there as well. Don't go overboard with it though, it only takes a little bit, then spread with a toothpick. Once you get the letter lined up, clean excess with another clean toothpick dipped in alcohol. Dries clear and solid as a rock.

I have heard of some people using a little clear silicone on the letters too to get them to restick.
