Why own a vette in the first place? Or why even put miles on it that is only making the value go down.

A couple yesr ago I got the FI bug too. I asked a lot of questions in the FI section of the forum. I got good info back. The one I like the best is when I asked about the A4 trans. I asked how long it would last. One guy said 6 hours, another said 6 months. I concidered the info I got from FI folks, and almost ALL have recommended a trans upgrade. So this adds a little to the price. I figure I need a bit more money for the mod yet. Have fun with it. We modify our cars for us, not the next owner.

Driving a 700hp Vette (Soon to be 900+ in the spring) is the most fun you can have out of bed with your clothes on hands down!!!!!
But on a serious note to the OP, you need to first decide if you really plan on keeping this car for a long time. If you have decided that then I say go for it and drive the hell out of it and enjoy it every chance you get!
My car was paid for the day I bought it and I wanted a faster car. My choices were to keep my 01 Vert and dump $20k into to make it a monster or sell it and get a 07-08 C6Z?
I'm glad I kept my C5, Driving it on the weekends away from the crazy work week and wife and kids is a great stress reliever!
BTW the $20k was for an ECS Novi 2000 system, alkey, RPM level 6 trans, SS3200 stall, fuel system, DTE 3.42 rear, new wheels, new leather interior! I did it all in one shot!

Unless you are doing frequent track days where you are pushing it for 30 min sessions, FI is the way to go. +150rwhp, similar gas mileage and and a huge smile every time to mash the gas. Plus you can remove it and sell it when you are tired of it or ready to sell car. I would put it back on mine if I didn't track it so much.

anyone go with a roots type here? Lets hear/see
I did a vortech on my ole 93 lx5.0 and loved it(wound up with a R trim, iirc) , but HATED the vortech on my VQ35 motor(g35 coupe)... I have an inclination to go positive displacement for the instant hit effect...

I believe if you go that way you'll need a hood (& paint) as those don't fit under the stock hood....
