Default Thinking about getting a new hat..

I've been thinking about selling the Gentleman's Cruiser and going with a coupe. The thinking being I'd drive it more than the vert. Decided to keep the Cruiser and add something. Best of both worlds.

This looks interesting.

I've got one coming in a week or so.

My second Corvette, a '68 was a convertible with a "lift-off" hardtop and the standard soft top. It was the best of both worlds and I enjoyed the car. I was single at the time and the ladies really liked cruising in the summer sunshine.

How is it fastened/sealed? Curious as to how much of an asspain it is to remove. IIRC mine (Z06) is 1 piece with the part that sits in front of the trunk. Is this chopped off a Z06/FRC?

Looks stellar! I'm really hoping the group buy pricing's not going to be too high, I'd really like to get one for my '01.

Can't wait to hear your review of it!

IMO those look awkward in the glass area...too bulbous. plus the huge gap at the bottom just looks too kit-carish.

Looks like a good option to have for the car. What vendor sells something like that and how does it attach?

And here I was thinking about a new ball cap for me! Disappointed or what? I got a vert and all I have to do is push a button and there is a handy roof that works the same as your project...what the?

It's molded from an FRC/Z top and the dimensions are EXACTLY the same. It takes the stock rear glass - so much for the glass comment....LOL. It may look different since it's not tinted. Mine is coming already tinted. This is a pic of the first one. Mine will sit closer on the tonneau. Just a little different weather stripping. Stock targa and vert latches on the front and custom latches on the rear.

I can't post the source since it's not a forum vendor...yet. If and when, it will probably be sold through an existing vendor IIRC.

I'm interested in seeing final close-up pictures of the whole installation. Be sure and follow-up with multiple pictures. If the fit is right you end up with two cars; that's great!
