So ... I wasn't going to respond to this thread because the OP never included any pics so I can't begin to estimate his damage. I also don't want to get involved in the 'Who do you love more - dog or car' stupidity. However... I will respond to some great one-liners!

If a tree falls in the forest....
So where ARE all the tree-huggers?!

That's a shake-my-head funny especially since I drive both!
(I really expected this one to be a powder keg!)

You were lucky, because you didn't have time to swerve and hit a tree.

Never try to miss an animal with a big swerve. That is how people get killed.

Dog's owner should buy you a new car.

Haven't been around here a lot lately. Just have to say as a dog lover I have no sympathy for dogs left to run loose. Anytime ours gets loose, we are right there looking for it. It gets hit I would be upset but not at the person who hit it.

Ever hit one on a Harley? I have. It's head hit the crashbar. I suspect it wanted to bite my leg but wasn't counting on the crashbar. My wife at the time was near tears...do you think it's OK? I said I hope it's dead. If it got under the front wheel both our asses would be sliding down the pavement.

Funny. Everyone would be all sympatetic if the OP hit a deer. Well that's a wild animal that doesn't know any better. Dogs are suposed to be domesticated and trained. But some people get em, never bother to train them and just let em run.

I had a wild turkey blast through my windshield at about 65mph... does that count?

Bounced off my leathers. How I didn't go down, I still don't understand. I was spitting feathers in my fullface Bell. Checked my heart - it was ok, my 'derware weren't as lucky...

Gathered my bearings, got off and went to get the bird. Figured I may as well roast it up. Don't you know the dam*ed thing got up and ran into the woods! sheesh....

But... I digress...
