Need help suspension/lowering ?
2003 z06
59k miles
fronts are 275 40 17 rear is a 315 30 18
stock rims
this is how the car currently sits
i need to lower it because i'm looking into getting new wheels but when i look at the direction of lower a car on stock bolts. it says that the bolt through the leaf spring is suppose to be sticking up as far as it can and this is what my front leaf spring looks like. i know it doesnt have the nut that is suppose to be on there(previous owner lowered the car and i guess forgot to put it back) i did have a nut on there but took it off for the picture
any help would be great

If the rubber bushing on the end of the adjusting bolt is right up against the bottom of your spring, then it's as low as it'll go. If you want lower, you can cut part of that bushing off.
Before doing anything, though, I'd put the new wheels & tires on to see where you sit. If your new tire diameters are greater than what you currently have, then they will fill out the wells better, and you may not have to lower it any further.

the bushing is still there and i seen it was squished but it really should still sit that high being fully lowered???? i feel mine sits higher then stock c5z as it is

Both your front and rear tires are smaller in diameter than stock sizes. Put proper size (or larger) tires on and you'll see the well gaps minimize.

the rear i know is smaller diameter and the front is a bigger then stock. and that wheel gap is as big as a stock c5z and apparently it is as low as itll go. it doesnt make sense

My mistake - you're right about the fronts being slightly larger than stock. You could still go larger, though...
Well, you could cut the bushings, or even remove the adjusting bolt altogether, as some have done. But again, I'd wait 'til you have your new wheels/tires on before doing any more adjusting to the suspension.

I lowered my MY on stock bolts a month ago and am very happy with it although I don't think that I'll go any further then that.(I live out in the sticks)
It scraped backing out the garage for the first time and I almost cranked the bolts back up right then and there, but in the end it's worth it. The wheel well is better filled and it handles noticably better.
I've looked at a lot of pics and I agree, bigger tire/wheels would probably get you where you want to be. It would be next on my list other then the cost, maybe next year.

You probably have the stock front adjuster bolts.
Take them out & install after markets.
You'll get another 1/2" to 3/4" lower drop to the front.
There was never a nut on the top.
After markets on the left & stock GM adjusters on the right.

To change these, do u just jack the spring up and remove it ? Or do you have to remove the spring?

Those will not get the car lower than the after market, flat steel bottoms w/rubber pads.
However, they are nice units, for replacements for the GM full uncut adjusters.
