Radio wiring help
Hey wondering if anybody can help I put a aftermarket radio in car and read that I should put the red power wire to a yellow wire in passenger footwell
It said there's 3 wires taped off there. A yellow black and orange
So I found a set of wires those colors already cut with tape on them my question is a are these the wires I posted pic
And b I hooked red wire on radio to the yellow like I'm supposed to and nothing happens but if I touch red wire to yellow on harness it turns on
So is there a fuse down there I can just hook up to or another wire

Typically from the radio, the yellow wire is the main power wire and the red wire is a 12v (+) signal lead (on with ignition only) If you have a volt-meter, this should help you find which wire does what.

Most newer radios require two 12v sources, one for the memory and clock and the other for power (only with key on). Generally the radio won't play if you don't have both. You can hook both radio wires to the same switched 12v, but every time you turn off the key, you'll lose station memory and time will reset.

Right so on the roem-vette1 it says to hook yellow to yellow and the red has to go to a triggered power source so in another thread I read about the yellow wire in the passenger footwell but its not working

the yellow will work as long as you didn't blow a fuse.
or
have a 2004 where there is no wires in the footwell
or
have a 2004 where there is no wires in the footwell
