Bringing my C5 into the 21st century
Hi guys, just thought I'd share some of the updates I've done to the interior and exterior of my car.
I love my TR/TR Z06 but there are a few general C5 shortcomings that I wanted to address. My goal is to be relatively subtle; improve quality but still keep the principles along the lines of what a C5 would be like if built today, or if the car was at a slightly higher price point.
Interior:
The biggest thing I needed to change were the seats. This is my 2nd C5 and the 2nd C5 on which I changed from stock to Corbeau A4s. This time around I went leather, and got some Z06 stickers made from a vinyl vendor.
Next came the double din and a shifter.
Finally came a whole suite of stuff from redlinegoods. The best part is of course the steering wheel with the added padding and thumb grips.
The stock mod red interior has too much red for me on the seats but when I got rid of them for the Corbeaus I needed some balance back. I got it with red stitching on all the leather pieces and red accents on the console cover.
Exterior:
The exterior, to me, has much less shortcomings. Just lowered it, painted the wheels and rear facia, tinted it, and changed the look of some of the emblems. I did add ACA headlights, that's really the only technical element that is lacking on factory C5s, IMO. Also added some blackout front corner lenses and LEDs.
What do you think?
I will add that I did all this on a fairly tight budget; as you know it's pretty easy to spend $$$$$ on the interiors and exteriors of these cars, I'm all in under $2k and $1200 of that is the seats.

Great minds think alike! You've got the right frame of mind by keeping the red from going 'over the top' on the interior....it's a 'less is more' thing.
I noticed you have a baseball stitch and an X stitch on your leather components...was that intentional? ...not saying it looks wrong, but just wondering if you planned it that way.

The shift **** I did before I got anything else. I need to address it with a new **** that matches my shifter boot. I like the feel of the c6 **** but never liked how the silver doesn't match anything else in the interior. Now that plus the threads makes it too wrong.
The steering wheel has the stitching that way by default, I like that its a bit bolder.
If money were no object I'd get the seats restitched with red thread but you gotta stop somewhere!

Really digging that steering wheel and the seats. Those 2 will be a must have when i pull the trigger on a C5. Really makes the car look newer. Also, A set of L.E.D halo taillights would look good on that car aswell as bring the lighting up to the newest technology

Nice job and another "great minds think alike" response as I had a similar modication/personalization plan for my C5 vert.
Although the C5 design is timeless, many of it's components are not. I also installed new VE leather trim, a double din NAV system with upgraded stereo speakers/sub/amp, installed upgraded suspension, exhaust, wheels and improved the lighting to HID/LED. It really modernized the car while keeping the classic looks.
