Default 3M Paint Defender Spray

http://3mauto.com/products/paint-defender

Looks like a cheaper spray clear bra. Spray it on and then you can peel it off if you want to remove it. Need to do more research but I may just give this a try. Could be an easy way to get some paint protection for a long road trip or track day. Any one here try it yet?

I think it's a little more than just clear plastidip. Plastidip won't stop small rock chips, this says it does.

I posted a YouTube video here last week, in a thread about taking a long road trip. anything that is easily reversible is worth taking a second look.. the kit is 25 dollars. This product might be good for those with Z06 scoops, they see a lot of road debris abuse, because they stick out so far. Would seem to be a good inexpensive protection for a single long road trip. Front fascia and leading edge of the hood.

Says its good for up to a year. I like that it's easily removable, I've seen some pretty nasty clear bra applications after they have been on the car for a while. This you just peel off and reapply. I wonder if you could use this on your rims too??

Default I posted this in that linked thread

Wow, while I accept the OP's experience, the disappointment comes from using a high pressure car wash wand, on a product that is specifically designed to peel off. I don't care if the wand was 8 inches or a foot away, its not designed to take high pressure hits from a car wash wand. That would not have happened if you had hand washed it and uses a hose with no pressure nozzle. I would have thought common sense would dictate not using high pressure on this type of removable product.

Autozone stocks it. Sold out of it within just over the first week. They may still have the sample kit at the store where they have some plastic cards sprayed with it where you can peel it off.

Any product that will supposedly stay on for a year SHOULD stand up to a little water pressure. Whats the difference in that and driving 75mph in the rain??? Not to mention the OP already stated he saw peeling BEFORE he washed the car. Also the spray finish looks pretty poor IMHO. Doesn't match the paints finish... and not even close to as good as a clear bra.

You cant read very well can you?

"I said" If you point the wand at the seam ( pointing the wand toward the front of the car), a power washer can reach velocities of over 100 mph. when you drive the car at 100 mph the seam will never see anywhere near 100 mph, If you don't understand that concept then I can't help you. Its simple aerodynamics . air flow going toward the windshield @ 100 mph will be 100 mph does not mean that wind speed coming from the windshield will even come close to that speed.

Let me just agree with you, this product is crap.. there, are you happy now?

Thinking it might be good as a Stone Guard for the very clear plastic Projector Hids I just installed, specially on long road trips where I may do some night driving. (already have Clear Bra on most everything)

This video alone may prove that this is worth the price. From what I've seen, application may be a little tricky and may not look factory, but the fact that you get this type of protection and can remove it after your road trip speaks volumes.
