C5 vs new Camaro
So, I have the 1999 Corvette convertible 6 speed, factory stock, how would it do up against a newer Camaro with the LS3 and 6 speed manual?

depends on the driver, tires and track layout. corvette is lighter and with good tires could be a challenge.
taking on a car that's more powerful and winning can be done, just has some variables
if you mean a stock vs stock straight line race, you're not winning in a base coupe

I think a lot will depend on the driver. The Camaro has a lot more power, but the Vette is considerably lighter. The Camaro may end up winning, but I think it would be a good race. Only one way to find out - take it to the track and go for it.

Just the normal 1ss or 2ss I've beat up on a lot of them pretty bad with my bolt on c5 in my old home town where they were a dime a dozen. zl1 or the new z28 coming out no chance unless you have some good stuff done. A buddy of mine back home had a 2ss that was full bolt ons and he's getting ready to Procharge it now because he's tired of getting drug by everyone because he's so heavy lol. With full bolt ons he ran in the mid to high 13's (we had an AWFUL DA) and my old bolt on ws6 ran low 13's (13.00-13.1's) at the same track constantly.
