Default Check engine light and

O.K., I'm driving the Vette this morning and thinking how great it's running and then the check engine light comes on. Being the worrier that I am I hurry home to check it out. The first thing I notice is a hissing sound like water hitting a hot pipe. I put the car up and I see water dripping down on my header on the passenger side! After I pray for a minute I investigate and find it is only the a/c dripping condensation water on the header! I had never noticed it before so I almost panicked. I still have the check engine light so I checked the codes and came up with the following. po 420hc and po430 hc. I looked it up and it says low efficiency bank1- A and bank2-A. What the heck does that mean and how do I turn out the damn check engine light? Thanks ahead of time, Dave

Cat inefficiency code. Very common when you install headers with or without high flow cats.

Thanks bill, the headers have been on for over a year and it never showed it before. By the way, how do I turn off the dang light? I unhooked the battery for about 5 minutes and hooked it back up but still the light!

Just clear all the codes through your DIC and it should go away.
