Default TPMS question

I just put on new Hankooks, love them, great tire. When I got tires mounted and high speed balance done I picked up the car and had the TPMS service in the DIC, I said great, just need to program. When I got home I started the procedure and did not get horn beep on front drivers side tire, so I assumed that my magnet was not very strong. So I went online and ordered a round magnet. Anyway next day I take the car out and no service light and have a reading on all the sensors on the DIC. How does that work? Should I still have the service reading?DIC shows 32 on upfront tires and 30 on rears. Should I go ahead and reprogram when I get magnet? My vette is a 98.

No, I no longer have the message, did a reset the first time, so when do you have to reprogram or is that the newer year C5? Thanks for your answer.

If you are getting readings on the DIC, the sensors should be working. I'd probably just keep an eye on the readings to ensure they are in fact working properly - check them also with a good air pressure gauge to verify that the pressure shown on the DIC is very close to what you get with a gauge.

only have to reprogram if you get tires mounted and they don't relearn or they get swapped around side to side ..may be a few other instances but thats the main ones

Thanks for the info, the DIC was very close to what my gage said, front were at 36 so I released air to get to 32 and rears were at 31, so all is well!!

how old are your sensors? you might be nearing the end of the battery life and getting an occasional service TPMS message

Really don't know the age on sensors, need to find out from former owner, but they are working fine now!!
