Default water pump

Hi everybody !
How u can give me some advices.
Having c5 99 132k mi, i Faced with problem with water pump and belt screaming. The sound that comes out from under the hood looks like atomic bomb. the service guy said the problem def with water pump. They are gonna charge me around 570$. It's about too much but anyway I love my vette.
what pump should I get? Oem or different brands? Or may be its easy out used original pump?
I already put tons of money in this car changed transmission and rear end. Need some optimal decision

Just buy a new pump. The part should be like $100-$150. And honestly its not a difficult job at all...anyone with a toolbox should be able to do the job in under 2 hours.

I have a friend who works on cars. Only guy I trust working on my stuff. He lives in Dartmouth right off rt 6 by the pink building. Let me know if you want his # or if you want me to call him for you.

Water pump is easy. Buy the part yourself and save $350. SDPD had a great deal a few months back on takeoff water pumps.

just bought a GM one from scoggin dickey 110 shipped with water neck and thermostat....awesome deal!

that's stupid cheap. actually kind of scary those are blow out prices when they want to liquidate inventory

agree it's an easy job for someone even with novice skills

hardest part is getting the gaskets to stay on the bolts when you mount. always can use a dot of rtv to hold them in place

great learner job. all you need are hose clamp pliars, a 3/8" torque wrench and a few sockets

hose clamp pliers care 40, torque wrench is 10 at harbor freight, rest you probably have.

you can even get around hose pliers with a large channel lock
