Oregon doesn't salt the roads on the rare occasion it snows. If it does get snowy or icy I just stay home. Retired with a stocked pantry, don't even have to make a beer run(17 years baby) These cars handle great in the rain too, just watch for standing water, both hands on the wheel

Actually, I'm on the coast today, 90 miles from home, forecast is for a rainy drive home tomorrow

Default Mine is Stored During Summer

When I leave Florida and head for my summer home in Vermont I put a battery tender and a cover on the vert from May to October. Can't drive two vehicles plus the lakefront summer place is on a dirt road. The old vert will be back in action in a month

We're moving to Estero, in about 6 months. I will no longer put a car away for the winter.

Are you guys in the north more concerned bout the salt, or driving on icy conditions?
Just curious.

Salt! ice is ok if you take it easy. Snow sucks because of the lack of ground clearance. They make lousesy snow plows. Ask me how I know.

Guess you've never had to wash the salt and sand off in 90° heat in the middle of winter after driving down Daytona Beach either? It sucks I tell you.

Favorite thing about winter in Kentucky,

No Bugs

The normal heat from the console area really feels good

No bugs

The LS seems to love the colder air

Did I mention, no bugs?

Good news for me because it won't be 100 degrees and I can switch to the transparent top for fall and take it off more often

Spend the time and effort to REALLY do paint correction, protection, and detailing the car and the last thing you'll want to do is get that f*er dirty again.

Now don't get me wrong, I drive my car. I just don't drive it in salt, intentionally drive it in rain, and in the winter I use my DD while the Vette gets a well deserved rest. Besides that, it's like getting a new Vette in the spring.

They put salt and gravel on the roads in Colorado. Very bad stuff.
