Default Diagnostic Help Requested By Senior Member

Hello, out there. I have a 2004 Vette with only 37,000 miles. The details are: Initial problem: Battery would drain overnight and car would not start. 2/09/03 > Replaced battery. Same problem. Took to dealer at at cost of $1,200.00. Diagnosis was "600mA draw and traced it to fuse #25 and found IPC causing the draw." "Removed and replaced IPC, programmed, and performed key fob relearn."

Replaced battery again.

Replace OEM Bosch alternator 4/18/13 because gauges would not work.

Now, the problem is this. I start the car. Gauges work and then turn off immediately. I drive the car for a few miles and "check gauges" appears and "low voltage", then gauges work. However, if left sitting for a day or 2, problem reoccurs.

Some charging problem. I know nothing. Tell me what to do now.

Thanks, Ben

There are some very knowledgable people here that I'm sure will chime in to help you. In the mean time You might want to check all your grounds, not just the one on the battery. Make sure there isn't any corrosion and they are all secure.

Also check under the battery and see if the old battery had leaked any acid down below, that has been an issue on some other cars. If it has leaked onto the computer located below the battery that can cause lots of issues.
