So my wife never showed much interest in the vette. She drove my 98 once.....and said "meh, its ok.....its a car" lol

She didnt really care one way or another when I was looking for the replacement. I ended up getting a z06 about a week ago. She hasn't so much as glanced at it in the driveway and pokes fun about it .
Anyways, she is meeting with the girls tonight and she asked me if she could take the corvette. I told her she could....but there is a slight problem. .....she cannot drive a standard
She thought I was joking when I said it was standard but when I told her I wasn't, she was disappointed and said never mind. I told her I would be glad to teach her but she said she don't want to learn because she tried in the past.
Guess I'll be in the doghouse for a while. ......

Five years ago I purchased a standard MX5 Miata for my long term girlfriend. Last year I replaced it with an 02 vert (manual) which had more leg room for me. It sat here a few days before she drove it but came back with a big smile and said she like it better. Since then she took several long trips and was impressed with the power and 28 mpg. I get occasional comments about traffic indicating the next vet will be automatic. One of my eight Corvettes was automatic, a 1981 and it perfomed very bad. Guess we'll keep this one a while!

There was a quote on here awhile back from a guy that "he has a deal with his wife that she won't drive his vette and he won't push her vacuum". My wife and I got a kick out of that one, I'm still laughing.

My wife drove mine once the first night I after I bought it and it was still stock. She couldn't find the 3rd pedal at the top of a ramp. Scared the crap out of her and she hasn't wanted to since then.

I've had a number of sports cars since DW and I married forty years ago and she had to be bribed to drive ANY one of them. However, she will NOT drive the Vette for any reason no matter what. I've invited her to drive it time after time and she refuses. Her loss.

Find your mistake. You should have given her the 98!!! I already promised my wife mine. That's the deal, so I can have the z06. Corrected, so it got wrecked, sorry about that.

It could be a PA Thing.

my wife drove my 98 twice the first week I got it 9 years ago. A total of 10 miles. Come to think of it, that was the last time she was in it. Absolutely no interest.

That must be why the passenger seat shows no wear. lol

My wife doesn't want to drive the C5 at all - doesn't matter whether it is an automatic or manual tranny. And that is fine with me since she does not feel comfortable about it.

Well I can't depend on that excuse,,My wife can drive a stick as good as most and better than some guys!!As a matter of fact she has driven my FRC on several occasions. Luck for me she doesn't have a great desire to drive it that often!!

My wife said she wanted to drive it when I 1st got it. But after driving in it with me a few times I think she is afraid of the car now. She says it gives her whiplash every time I shift, I tell her I can't help it the car just drives that way.

My wife is 4' 9" and can't reach to get the clutch all the way in so she's never driven any of my fun cars. I've taught her to drive stick on other cars where she could reach but she's not comfortable being so close to the airbag on the street.

Get a new wife

I have always owned (technically) at least two vettes at a time, because my wife HAS to have her own (and it HAS to be modded)
She can also drive the CRAP out of a stick. She had a 69 (her first vette)many years ago, and since then has had all autos (they're faster you know ) but she is really wanting a C6Z06 if the prices come down after the C7 takes hold. (already telling me what mods she would want)

If she is not impressed with a Vette, there may not be a future there..............

Same here, my girl is too short to drive it.
