A young female with a vette....it can't be....no way!
Great macho attitude, great corvette mutual respect, the things you guys pride yourself's on, some of you need a reality check.
I have asked simple questions....nothing complicated, on my new car purchase and I have been badgered by you guys for not posting pics of myself.
personally, this is not for me.
Good luck to you all.... and the ones that helped me out...I love my C5 and may one day run into you at a car show. And if not..... lets say ill be glad I didnt meet you.

No, only you made that mistake. Probably hit the bait the troll laid out.
You can always tell if you are unintentionally objectifying a woman by seeing if you would be asking the same thing of a man. Just a tip from a fellow traveler, because chicks don't dig that stuff.
It could very well be a troll , but why? A pent up demand for car care tips , or to see how long it would take before the net does it's thing. Corvette owners already have a rep, and it is not good. Perhaps exposing personal shortcomings was the goal. I hope not.
I hope that somewhere, the somewhat inexperienced sounding owner has a good time with her new purchase. My used Corvette was an exorcise in fettering beyond expectations, so someone landing cold in Corvette world had better be ready.
But with the kind help here, plus a few bucks, and in my case , tools, in hand, I now have the car sorted out, and now just wait for the next shoe to drop. A guy with a show car C5 said to me this last summer, there will always be another $80 part needed.

Give the gal a break and let her get some pics of her car before you call her out. She told everyone she just picked it up yesterday. Posted up honest questions and many of us have given our time to help.
Ladies deserve respect, anytime and anywhere.
Especially a lady with a Corvette! Huge respect!

Hey.. dont let some of these guys get to you.. Most of the guys here are really helpful and appreciate ANY new member to the forum. Some are still like little kids.. the ones US women ignore on the street let alone this Corvette Forum. I too recently bought my first Vette.. a '98 Vert. Decided to mostly post without telling my sex due to some of the inappropriate remarks some can give but have received and have read Many good tricks and tips on how to own these cars.. and I really do like reading some of the very funny remarks some of these guys say to eachother. Some mornings I get my best laughs from reading things here. Just take some of the remarks here with a grain of salt.. most are here to help and really do appreciate another Vette owner. Welcome!

Welcome to the forum and to C5 ownership! I'm a relatively new Corvette owner myself, and I've found a lot of great information and help. I hope you remain as a member - there are a lot of good people here.

-Chose the forum name "CuteVetteGirl"
-Made sure to have your avatar as a picture of your face (instead of your car) before posting your 1st post
-Made a sexual innuendo in your first post
-Used the thread name "Hey Boys... Help Me......."
I'm not saying everyone on this forum is as thoughtful towards the opposite sex as they should be, but don't make your post centered on your femininity if you don't want people to focus on that. Also, read through the replies... only 1 single person asked for a picture of you, most people asked for a picture of the car.
Looks like you got some very good quality help very quickly, including offers for free parts to fix some of your problems. Good luck with the car, I always like to see them being enjoyed by a variety of types of people.

Upload pictures of it to an online hosting website, such as Photobucket, and then post the picture by copying and pasting the image URL with [ IMG ] tags.

Hmm. Was giving her the benefit of doubt but got hung up at "I can't figure out how to post pics" but did a good job on the profile pic.

Hi Vette Girl
Re posting pict...This is how I do it..
go to user control panel (user cp) top left of the page
menu on left says pictures and albums...click that
create an album name, then click on that..just above the light grey bar on the far left hover your mouse and in red it will say upload pictures
Select the file...you can do 3 different ones at a time..It will upload the picture...then click on the picture and copy/paste the BB code ( the line under the URL address) address into your post.
Always works for me :-)

When you do a post at the bottom you can use the "Manage Attachments" at the bottom underneath the comment box -
BUT make sure you use the "Go Advanced" tab and then it will have the extra stuff for posting pictures directly!
Thanks,Matt

Hey.. since I'm already here.. I have a question. I put a pick of my car on this forum, figured out how to do that with photobucket and the help here, but the pic I put up on my personal page to come up when I post, wont show up. I can see it when I go to the info about myself but not when I post anything.. can anyone help me with that?

Go to your UserCP at the top of the page and edit your avatar. Check your options also and make sure if you want a signature to show up that is check marked also.
Avatars need to be small, usually around 150X150 or similar size so you might need to reduce the pic before hand. PM me if you need any more help and I can walk you through it.
