Default Question about Oxygen sensors. HELP

I'm installing new O2 sensors. I noticed that the passenger side sensor plugs in easier to the drivers side connector. Is this right? Or does driver side plug into driver side and vice versa? Would someone help me as far as which plug goes on which side? Bought car used and don't know what previous owner did.

Mine on the front are left to left and right to right. The issue with the difficulty of pluging them in could be due to heat distortion of the connectors. My passenge side connector was so distorted that I could not unplug it at all. I used the Bosch universal O2 and spliced them in according to the supplied directions. Seems to work fine as I'm not getting any codes now.
