Rst clutch on resurfaced stock flywheel?
Just bought an rst clutch! Is anybody running this clutch on stock resurfaced flywheel? Hows the flywheel hold up to it?

never have heard of anyone doing it. stock flywheel is soft iron. for $350 you can get an 18lb billet monster flywheel
also the question of balance. if you did use the stock flywheel it would probably be a good idea to have the clutch assembly balanced since the pressure plate could be off on the new setup versus where the old one was

Hmm the shop I bought it from said I would be fine and they were running an rst clutch on a vette with stock flywheel with 900rwhp and ran good. Just want to pull this crap out once, but don't especially want to spend another $300. This clutch install will be adding up real quick

Okay guys just for an update for anyone else wanting to know. I have been told by 5 really nice performance shops now that the rst clutch will work great with stock resurfaced clutch as long as the flywheel is in spec and in good shape!

I don't see any issues either. Just be sure to get the clutch/flywheel balanced together as an assembly.

I Do. Mcload rst clutch with stock resurfaced flywheel. Yep. Very nice clutch. Feels 100% better then stock and can take a little HP. My vette has about 430 rwhp. You will not be disappointed with the clutch.

So if your balancing the clutch, you need to allow for the possible imbalance of the OEM flywheel.
