Remember when you were a young kid and had to try and smoke the tires on your parents car!
Now we drive cars and try NOT to blow up the tires!
345/30/19 NT05Rs and 700hp through an auto! I can stomp on the go pedal after 55mph, anything under that is just a bunch of spinning!
Gotta ease into it with any tire pretty munch!

a lot of money into the rear end and suspension.
A friend had a SC 9lb mustang with 600hp and it took everything to get the wheels to spin but if i remember right it was ALOT of money involved(15k) was what he had into it.

Drifting
Also remember that temperature makes a BIG difference in traction.
A certain tire might give you good traction at 100 degrees, but give almost no traction at 40 degrees.
And most high performance tires are not supposed to be used under 40 degrees, and to get the most traction you'll need them to be nice and hot to give the best traction.
More sidewall generally gives better traction, so 20 inch rims will be spinning all day, but 17's (or smaller) will be a better bet.
