Default test drove a zl1

I test drove a zl1 vert a couple months ago and can't stop thinking about the sound of the exhaust. How can I get my vetted to sound similar?

Headers, B&B bullets, and electric cut outs would make it scream

So skip the Bullets and do headers and cut-outs.

A few months ago, I was at a dealer and they were moving a ZL1 off the showroom floor to move out a sold C7 and I commented to the sales manager how much better the ZL1 sounded vs the C7. ARH headers, Xpipe and BB PRTs - love the way mine sounds,

I have Kooks longtubes and X-pipe into factory Z06 Ti mufflers and it sounds pretty much perfect. Not too loud, but definitely throaty, and she sounds sweet under throttle

My next-door neighbor has a ZL1 that I hear it all the time. It has a fairly nice exhaust note (I was surprised Chevy got away with that db level) but, honestly, I don't think it sounds that great, maybe becuase of the h/c/header/cutout/GHL setup I had on my C5. His ZL1 sometimes has that motorboat sound to it. I think an aftermarket exhaust would probably make it sound much better. JMHO

Forget aftermarket mufflers... headers and a pulley (to get back the boost)

So would you say your sound is similar. Throaty, but not to loud?

If he doesn't answer, the PRTs are on the calmer end of the spectrum... however, if you're looking for that sweet sound without going overboard, try longtubes and an X-pipe into the stock exhaust (or pick up Z06 mufflers for about $350, give or take $50) before you drop the coin on a set of Borla mufflers. As I said, I'm VERY happy with the way my car sounds with the Kooks/X/Ti combo

To me they are in the middle, not too loud like bullets. They are mild at idle and cruise but let everybody know when you get on it. I think Billy Boats website has sound clips.

I think they're a hair more aggressive sounding than Borla's "touring" exhaust
