I love my Z51 package, The car handles a lot better, If you have a coupe with the A4 with Z51 you will have 3.15 gears, larger sway bars, PS cooler. can't remember what else.

Exactly what I have ('99 A4 C5 Z51 coupe) and I love it!!!!! The 3:15 gears make a noticeable difference. Would be even more fun with the 3:42 gear set!! Handling is awesome too!

I'm not a racer, just a cruiser, but I love my car with the Z51 package. I really didn't notice much difference when I was driving different cars a few years ago. After having mine a few years now and driving one without, I can really tell the difference. I went with a buddy to pick up his 03 AE Vert this week and got to drive it about 100 miles on the way home. His car has the selective ride control. I much prefer the Z51 over the selective system. The Z51 is firm, but NOT too hard with decent tires. I have Hankook V12s and the car rides and handles very good for me. Forgot to mention my car has 140,000 compared to his at 26,000 miles. Still like my car handling, and ride better.

How does one visually ID the Z51 package if the car was bought used? I have a 2004 A4 coupe with the 3.15 option installed according to the build sheet. Just wondering if the Z51 components may have been installed after the car was bought.

If it wasn't installed at the factory, I would assume it could still be installed as an aftermarket option. If it was, is there a quick visual way to know?
