GM accessory aftermarket alarm system?
I have heard of an accessory aftermarket alarm system for 2001 C5s that were offered by Chevrolet dealers back in 2001. I saw it listed in a dealer catalog.It included a siren .

Anyone have a C5 with this GM accessory? If so-how is it different from the standard factory alarm setup?

Taken a few out in my time to replace with a better aftermarket unit. Its just a cheap DEI unit with built in shock sensor and siren added.
If your considering something like this just get a current quality aftermarket unit. Much better features, range, remotes and security in the new stuff.

Sounds like good advice above. Find a good install shop and have them put in a really top notch system if you want something other than the standard factory system.

What functionality are u looking for? I followed online DIY info recently to add a DEI 508 proximity and diode to the factory horn/headlight alarm system....
