Default Lost Air in Right Front, Nothing Wrong with Tire

Hi,

I have Goodyear Run Flats and checked the air pressure this morning before heading out to a Corvette Show in Newport News, and everything seemed fine until I was about to get off of the interstate, then the DIC displayed Left Front Tire Pressure Low. I then checked the TPMS, and it read 12 pounds of air!!! I pulled over and got my little rinky dink air compressor out and aired it up to 30 psi, then continued for another 20 miles or so, and the tire pressure stayed at 30 psi, and then, all of a sudden, the DIC low pressure light came on again. I stopped at a Tire Shop, and they couldn't find a leak in the tire!!!

As it turned out, the retaining screw that holds the Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor had loosened somehow, which caused the leak.

Do any of you know whether it is a common occurrence? This is my first experience with Run Flat tires, but with hardly any air, the car still tracked straight without any unusual characteristics at all.

Pretty common. I tighten all of mine a couple times a year.

Never had that happen to any of my C5s, but anything can happen. Hope the TPS retaining nut was torqued back to the proper setting.

I had, a similar problem except my wheel had about a 1 " crack in the inner lip on the rim...good excuse for new wheels.
