Never had one of the aFe intakes, but I've now had two of the Blackwings (one on my '00 and now one on my '03) and it is a very high quality product. Easy to install, looks great, and allows more airflow than a stock air intake. Price is not bad either.

Let me ask this. SLP has two listed to fit our cars. One is listed as CAI the other as FlowPac CAI.
What's the difference??

AFE also makes a dry filter plus it come with the duct. Much better than stock. Mine fit real good.

The instructions that came with mine says to clean, use low pressure air or wash out with mild soap and water, rinse, let dry. Mine has been on for a year, still looks great. I didn't want to use one that had oil in it being so close to the maf sensor.

The AFE is a good bit longer than your typical ducts... I had a hard time finding a filter to fit it when I had mine. I switched to a vararam duct and blackwing filter now and it works great
