Tilt Front End
Anyone know why they got away from the flip front used on the C4 and went back to a traditional hood? Always wondered that, it was one feature on my C4s that I wish they had kept (made for easy access to the engine)?
Never even saw a 3rd party solution?

I always liked the tilt front end on the C4 but I too would guess it was the cost and weight of the part that did it in.

I'm pretty sure it was too costly. Flip up clam shell hoods cost a fortune on any car. Just ask the Viper guys. But, I do agree that it is a C4 feature I wish they had kept. Actually, it is the main feature that turned me on to the C4 back in the day.
Times have changed. In those days, manufacturers understood the enthusiasts' need to proudly show off their engine. Today, they hide it under plastic covers or tuck it away in some dark hole (a la Porsche Cayman) to never be seen or appreciated.
