Can't get cruise control or security fobs working
Hi all,
I can't see to get my cruise control working or my fobs.
For cruise control I've checked all fuses. Maybe one is missing? I don't think so but have some pics of the fuse banks.
Just to confirm Im setting it correctly, while at speed, I move the left stalk switch to on. Nothing in DIC. Move to RA still nothing.
While switched on, I hit the button on the end of the stalk. Still nothing.
For the FOBS.
I think this car had a different security system in it at one point with a pager. I believe it was removed. Not sure how to proceed but maybe the pics will help.

I assume you did not actually pull the DIC codes, but just did not see anything show in the display?
Also. where these issues already present when you bought the car?
Have you tried new batteries in the Fobs?

There's historical codes in there but nothing active.
Yes these were present when I bought it.
Tried new batteries in the fobs and tacking the solder joints in one of the fobs with no luck.
Going to check the set screws in the clutch and brake pedal for the CC.
Let me get the historical codes.
Also - the plug by the ECU. YOu can see some weird connectors and duct tape in there.

If your referring to the two wide connectors at the bottom of the pile of wires in your 3rd picture, those are the "star" connectors that interconnect the Serial Data Buss to all the different sensors in the car for communications.
Can't speak with 100% accuracy to the black tape around the connector but it may well be factory tape. Lots of similar tape in the C5's so I suspect it is actually factory,
Historical codes ARE important. They are a track record of events that have occurred with the car. With only a few exceptions, codes change from C to H as soon as you shut off the cars ignition. To see codes that are C you need to pull the codes BEFORE you shut off the engine.
