How fast can you legally drive your car?
I would like to know what are the legal limits are,for acceleration, braking, and cornering speeds? Of course, smoothly, without tire squeal, or doing anything stupid. It is the way I like to drive, and at the same time do everything else by the book. Complete stops, signals, etc. and try to be courteous.

All depends on state law. When I lived in Hawaii breaking the tires was exhibition of speed. Others it can be reckless driving. All roads have speed limits but even that they could write you other things that would get you if they wanted. Check state driving laws.

I think he meant more into acceleration and cornering.
IE: Stoplight to 45 MPH acceleration speed, or the speed you can enter a corner or a turn.
Even if you are perfectly within the speed limit and not chirping/spinning/sliding the rear tires, if a officer feels you are driving too aggressive you can get a ticket.

You can get hit with 'wreckless op" at 20mph if you're dumb enough to do a burn-out at a traffic light - - I'm not sure what the OP's looking for here, but you can bet it's a very subjective answer and being irresponsible will contribute to the discourse.

This is a simple question.. answered by most here. Scenario:
posted speed limit is 35.
you nail it at a light and immediately get off it, and never exceed the speed limit. "wreckless driving"
"Too fast for conditions" is a blanket assessment of the situation which is a legal authority to ticket.
The other is " a display of speed ". this is where one car might be goading another car buy revving the engine while driving and creating a racing challenge, even when under the posted speed limit. This could be assessed even before an actual Street racing violation.
Both of these legal laws are at the discretion of the officer.

Tried to make the original question simple. These cars are much more capable of being safely driven than most other cars I have driven. I just like to take advantage driving my car as close to it's potential, safely without getting a ticket, or doing anything stupid. I realize it is always going to come down to your word against officers. I've been driving the best I can, and still having fun for 45 yrs. No ticket since 1990. Just trying to get a better idea of what the LEO considers too fast? Of course staying out of their sight helps too.

Here in West exas, the highway speeds are 80 MPH, and most other roads are 70 or 75 mph. Quite ofter there are vehicles doing 55 on the highway, and maybe 50 mph on some of the other roads.
It sure feels good to punch it when passing, and as fast as these cars are, it happens pretty quickly so while you might be legal as far as speeding and signaling, it sure as heck would look like reckless driving to a bystander. If that bystander happened to be LEO, then i'd bet you will get pulled over every time.

I am just trying to get better at what I would call the art of "stealth driving". That's why as much as I like the sound of my borla stingers, I will start looking for something quiet. I don't always like
everyone hearing me before they see me. Walk softly, and carry a big stick. Driving a red car doesn't help either.

Sometimes when getting on a freeway on ramp I'll mash the pedal, grab a gear, get my spot and then just back off to the limit and watch my mirrors for awhile. If all is clear all bets are off. Unless my grand daughter is with me.

I don't think most officers will bother you if you're clearly not operating the vehicle in an unsafe manner. I make it a point to shift at 5k around officers. An officer made a comment once, but I was in first gear in a car that redlined at 34, clearly not speeding. Keep it safe and you SHOULD be alright
