Default Amsoil gear oil

Any amsoil experts out there??

I want to change the gear oil in my 2001 C5 rear end and refill with Amsoil 75/90 synthetic but I cant get the Amsoil Slip lock additive over here in Europe.

Can I use the usual GM LSD additive instead? I can get that easily enough over here

AMSOIL does not recommend using any other brand of supplement other than their own - you probably can take that with a grain of salt, but something you should be aware of.

AMSOIL states that the Severe Gear 75W90 is compatible with most limited slip differentials (with no additive). I used the same AMSOIL Severe Gear 75W90 with no additive in my '97 diff with no issues. Only if you experience chatter do they suggest using their additive.

Give racer66 a message in here he will ship you the stuff plus is a vendor for them also. Will not have to pay any more $$ for it other than the shipping. I get all my stuff from him... Robert

"Over here" is England UK Europe , whatever we are called these days.. I can get all the Amsoil products but the dealer has run out of the Diff Additive so need that to complete the job in case the rear end starts to chatter!
Hope someone can chime in here and send me a bottle.. I will try racer66.. thanks Robert!

I'd rather have the additive just in case.. I know the previous owner used Amsoil on the rear and trans so want to keep it that way..someone out there must want to sell me some of this...

you dont need the additive in the C5 rear end, the C6 rear end you do however..make sure you do figure 8's when you are done with the fluid change to make sure you get the oil packed in

You should be fine with no additive. I've gone over 100K and two diff changes using Amsoil Severe Gear with no problems.

But you do drive on the wrong side of the road.

Ye you are right.. wrong side of the road same as the Aussies! ha ha.. but least they built thier cars with the steering wheel on the correct side for them. But they dont make C5 Corvettes right hand drive.
Also a bit of a cow son when overtaking.
Guess I will just have to put up with it. I just so like it when a Euro Lambo goes by and everyone looks at my red Z.. nice!
