Default detailer's.. what wax do you use?

I live in Katy Texas and the heat here is horrendous! I spent 5 hours washing , clay baring , polishing , waxing " carnuba wax " and then of course it rained! But that wasn't the worst of it. As soon as the blistering sun hit my vette " bye bye wax " it wasn't the rain that ruined my shine. It was the sun. This was my first weekend with my recently purchased C5 so I wanted it super clean but as soon as that sun hit my car , it just didn't feel as slick to the touch anymore. I found this book so if some experts here can enlighten me , please have a gander and shed some light on me. http://books.google.com/books?id=1TP...tput=html_text

This is why I recently stopped using wax and ordered Zaino's Z5 and Z2, plus a bottle of Leather in a Bottle for my new seat skins.

Anyway I use Adams, Pinnicle, and Ammo. If you really want a good wax read up on all of it. not just the stuff you buy on forums and walmart.
We have been a proud Forum sponsor since August 2013.....Thanks, Neil

Just got my Chadwicks today, eager to try it out. I'll wait until it gets a bit cooler out.

I use Mothers California Gold Synthetic Wax, Zymol, Meguiar's NXT, Poorboy's World.

Those are my favorites so I'll usually pick one or the other up if it is on sale and use it until it's gone. After that usually another one is on sale so I'll pick one of those up. I use the same stuff on all my vehicles and motorcycles.

I also live in Texas and and have no problems with wax coming off from the sun, but I also use a polish and paint sealant.

How do you tell if the wax has melted away?

Try a sealant instead of wax. I am also in the Houston area and my DD that I park outside still beads water nicely after a few months and several washes.

Nice! What sealant do you recommend I use since we have the same conditions?

I like both Adams and Menzerna sealants. Of course there are other brands that are great too. I sent you a pm with some more info.
