Default Evolution of my zZero6

Feb 2009 I picked up my 02 zZero6 with 30,000 miles on. I actually crossed 30k on the test drive. Only mods it had was after market brakes.

Started with tint, powder coating my rims, screens to the side vents putting a smaller antenna, GS stripes that didn't last long, lg street headers, borla exhaust & vararam intake.

Car stayed like that for almost a year maybe a little longer. Then I had a run in with an Audi s4 one night that I couldn't pull until I was well into 4th gear. Decided it was time to step up my game. Called A&A up and bought a v3-si kit and a new ACT Twin disc clutch. Halo tail lights were also added and a corvette creations c-wing.

To be be a little different I had the carbon fiber spoiler painted just to set it apart from others.

So right around the time these pictures were taken I decided I needed a cam. When I first added the blower I expected to make high 500's but came away with 618hp/526tq@8lbs went from 375hp/368tq with boltons not so bad at all. Then I added meth injection because the summer heat was killing my timing. It was just there for cooling it made 636hp/548tq@10lbs and all this was all without a cam. Well I decided to step it up again and I bought and lg blower cam kit this would be the beginning of the end for ls6. Ended up making some great power 732hp/594tq@10lbs was made at its peak and it was backed down to 715hp/583tq@10lbs I was impressed with the ls6.

Hit the dyno one day just for the hell of it and the car only put up 681hp/564tq@10lbs. Shortly after this dyno, I would have a blow by issue. I do a compression check and all cylinders are around 180 except number 7 its pushing 85-90. Bret BlownBluez06 just happens to be selling his ysi 10rib setup. I call him up and we come to a deal I trade him my v3-si kit and cash for his ysi setup. I take my butt to hot *** Dallas,Texas and Bret works all day and night in a 1 day time frame to switch everything out. Plans set up to go big this time around. I have the ysi kit on my broken ls6 now its time to buy an engine. Bret hits me up and tells me theres a new AES 390 short block for a steal on the for sell forum. I buy that and all the supporting mods that I wanted. Also decided to buy a new Caravaggio blower hood also. I had planned on doing my own work but those plans fell apart and I took it to my shop.

Drop my car off at the shop and they do their thing. Go pick it up and they were able to make 900's hp high 700's tq@16lbs.

Now that the car is back together I decided to order some rear welds rts.

Now I've added some TPE T2 fenders and I"ve sold the welds. Waiting on my new rims to come in but the car is almost where I think it should be. Stay tuned I'll be adding a little more power soon and some engine eye candy.

That's a beast for sure. I love the black Z06 wheels and tint against the red.

Thanks gents! It's been a long road and I can't lie it's been worth it. Learning through this process and helping others and getting help it's been a great experience for me.

Very nice man! Great thread on your transformation of an awesome Z. Must be fun!

Like the way you painted that rear c-style spoiler btw. Hmmm.

Thanks Moto I think the carbon fiber c-wing is a little much on the back of our cars if they aren't painted. Can't wait to see your new changes coming soon.

Agreed...too much carbon.

I really like your paint job on it but will likely end up going with TBrent's scheme instead (carbon left just on the underside). We'll see.

Right on...I'll be post whoring when the upgrades are done soon! I'd love to have some power near your numbers though. Damn, she must be a handful.

At times it can be. I just added a zr1 rear sway bar and it's become really predictable. I haven't had a chance to test it with some good tires yet but it's giving me hope that I can put it down once I get my new tires.

Thanks Millenium. There's a few little exterior mods I have left that I want to do but nothing major.
