Advice wanted: cross-threaded front upper control arm bolt
I was installing some coil overs and ended up cross-threading one of the upper control arm bolts..
I'm going to try and run a tap through it tomorrow.
I was wondering if anyone had run into this before and what advice anyone might have.. Also, if anyone happens to know what size tap I need, that would be helpful!
The bolt currently goes most of the way in, but is extremely tight after 3/8-1/2". So, I'm hopeful that a tap will get through and clear it out.
But, if that doesn't work, what are my options?
Here's a pic. You can see a piece of metal shaving near the back :-/

Yep, you are on the right track............ run a tap and then make sure the bolt threads are good too, buy running the bolt through a die, or even getting a new bolt.
Good luck, I'm sure it'll be fine!
